Google and Best Buy throw in free $10 gift cards with Chromecast and Chromecast Audio

You’d have to be pretty careless to buy a new, improved Google Chromecast or Chromecast Audio at full retail, with no freebies or bundled-in digital content, as it seems deals are coming in left and right, leaving you no time to ponder Apple or Amazon-made rivaling devices.
Granted, Valentine’s Day is no Christmas, so the best the search giant can do until February 24 is offer you gratis $10 Google Play credit with Chromecast 2 and Audio purchases. The two digital media players cost $35 stateside a pop, so if you’re thinking of getting them both, at the end of the day, you’ll only cough up 50 bucks.
Well, technically, you will spend $70, but it’s not like you’re planning to keep Play Store expenses at $0 anyway. We’re talking Android apps and games here, movie rentals, music, TV shows, magazines, books, and so much more.
Alternatively, you can pick up your second-gen Chromecast from Best Buy on or offline, and score a $10 gift card in the process valid on future acquisitions at the third-party retailer. Meanwhile, Amazon continues to aggressively push its Fire TV Stick, and ban all competitors, which in a way makes this promotion that much sweeter.
Oh, and before you complain Google exclusively cares about its US-based fans, note that the special offer is valid in Canada too. Still no love for Europe or Asia.
