Original ASUS ZenWatch price sinks below $100

Our review of the ASUS Zenwatch 2 from the late summer was, on the whole, positive. It was shrewd in its delivery of Android Wear and had a down-low cost to come with. If you’re looking for a comparable smartwatch at an even lower price, though, you can also turn to ASUS.

Its original ZenWatch has taken a price cut from an original retail price of $199 down to $99. You may be wondering why a late-2014 Android Wear watch kept its original price for so long and we are, too. For reference, there are three ZenWatch 2 models ranging in price from $129 to $199.

The only major trade-offs between the second iteration and the first one is the loss of the side-mounted button, a bump down in Bluetooth standard (4.1 to 4) and a 31mAh decrease in battery capacity. Most everything else specs-wise remains the same.

You can buy it direct from the company or from the usual third-party suspects.
