Android Pay “Tap 10” promo rolls out with free Chromecasts and media up for grabs

Google hopes its mobile payments system will strike a chord with users better than Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. The latter system has been sweetening the pot with wireless charging pads and such while the widest promo availability Android Pay took on was for giving away Android figurines with Jamba Juice purchases. Time for a little more action.

Now through February, Android Pay’s “Tap 10” campaign will be giving away free media from Google Play, be it a free song, a free Play Music subscription, a free movie or even a Chromecast device. All a person needs to do is make 10 NFC-based purchases with Android Pay within the period and they’ll get a promo code for a free thing.

Now for the fine print: taps must be made at least 5 minutes apart to be registered for the promo; also, participants are only eligible for one prize during the campaign. The campaign ends just before midnight on March 1st and rewards must be redeemed by March 31.

There should be a “punch card” that pops up in your Android Pay app soon if it’s not already there.
