Huawei Mate 8 hits Europe and other areas starting at €599

While Huawei is bringing some phones to the US, what it won’t bring to the US (just yet) is its Mate 8. Maybe we’re not ready for that piece of work just yet. Maybe Huawei isn’t ready to fully commit to the US just yet. But the GX8 might be a worthy upgrade from the P8 lite. Bad news for us, good news for some 30 territories if you’re ready to shell out for it.

Huawei has just announced that the Mate 8, already up for sale in China, will be pushed out to the world at large. it’s the same Kirin 950 SoC, the same Sony IMX298 camera sensor and the same 4,000mAh battery coming its way, but it comes at a steep price.

It will be €599 ($643 as of this post and about a $150 premium above the Chinese price) for a RAM/ROM configuration of 3/32GB. A 4/64GB version is up for €699 ($750). It will be out across western Europe, the UAE, Mexico and Australia. That’s all we know of in terms of pricing and availability.
