Google Apps for Work free while you’re still hitched to another software provider
Microsoft may have spread its productivity presence like a bagel shop spreads butter on toasted dough. It has focused gaining purchase on different mobile platforms while tightening up the value proposition on it consumers. But Google’s cloud-based answer to the Office 365 suite (and to others as well) has been out there as well, stewing up on a faster development cycle.
Google’s now proud enough to draw red ink for new customers. It’s offering its Google Apps for Work suite free for as long as you have an active enterprise agreement with another software provider. Google will also help with software deployment costs and set you up on its Google for Work Partners program.
While Microsoft has an extremely robust product with many features not seen on Google’s apps, if collaboration is as common as oxygen in your company, maybe the cloud-first strategy might be right for you. It’s what Mountain View is banking on.
