Best Buy CEO seems pleased with Apple Watch sales
We still can’t understand Apple’s reluctance to provide sales figures for the Apple Watch, so the only logical thing we can think of is that they aren’t going so well. This is the best selling smartwatch by numbers and popularity, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it reached Apple’s own expectations. Cupertino recently decided to begin expanding sales availability of the Apple Watch to other retailers, and that doesn’t seem to go so bad.
One of the stores that the Apple Watch expanded sales to earlier this month was Best Buy, and the company’s CEO, Hubert Joly, was recently on record to oddly praise the Apple Watch. According to him “demand for Apple Watch has been so strong in stores and online,” even though he didn’t provide sales figures to back that statement up. These sales also didn’t impact the company’s quarterly earnings since it’s only been a few weeks since the launch happened. Joly expressed that there is strong demand for all Apple products in best buy stores, and that he expect to have the Apple Watch available in all 1050 Best Buy stores by the end of September.
It seems that what Apple needed was some added retail push, but the next quarter results call should reveal more.
