BlackBerry Venice Android slider to come bundled with BlackBerry offerings, claims leak

If you’ve been following the BlackBerry Venice rumors and leaks, you probably know by now that BlackBerry is reportedly planning on bringing an Android-powered smartphone –a QWERTY slider, to be more specific– to the market. The latest such leak indicated that it will hit all four US carriers in November, with a collage picture attached, which showed off the alleged phone running both Google Play and the BlackBerry Hub.

Well, Evan Blass has followed up with another leak, showing off a screenshot that reveals a lot of BlackBerry related apt files. These files will most probably be baked into the ROM. Another tweet came in the form of an animation (video) which showed off the same BlackBerry Android slider most likely running the BlackBerry Productivity Suite.

What we’re looking at here is probably BlackBerry bundling its own offerings on the upcoming Android phone, in order to both differentiate from the rest of the Android smartphone makers, as well as appeal to those hardcore BlackBerry fans which depend on the company’s offerings.

As a reminder, back at MWC 2015, BlackBerry announced the BlackBerry Experience Suite for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. As CrackBerry notes, “the packages were broken up into three different sections, BlackBerry Productivity Suite, BlackBerry Communication Suite and BlackBerry Security Suite, with each package offering something special to other platforms”.

While the BlackBerry Venice could very well end up being an Android-powered BlackBerry, it will definitely have something “BlackBerry” in it (aside from hardware), making the phone more desirable for both Android and BlackBerry fans.
