Apple tapers its Back To School deals, now only for the Mac

Apple has been famous for its Back to School deals ever since we can remember. Back in the day students would get an iPod Touch when they purchased a Mac, and it eventually expanded to gift cards if students bought an iPhone or iPad. There was a lot of mystery surrounding why it took Apple so long to announce its deals, and today we learn why.

Apple has silently launched its Back to School deals today, and by silently we mean buried inside the company’s rebates page. This is odd behavior from a company that usually gives these deals the front page. It could be because now you won’t get any deals if you buy an iPhone or iPad as a student. The only products that get deals are the Mac, and you’ll have to subtract the Mac mini from the list. The deal isn’t that bad though, as you’ll be getting a pair of Beats Solo2 when you buy a Mac, or you can use that deal and save $100 on a pair of wireless Beats Solo2.

We wonder why Apple is reducing its deals this year that it has broken so many records, and specifically with the iPad. We wonder if Cupertino continues to believe in the iPad as a good product for students.
