OPPO Mirror 5 goes official with all the shine on the back, modest specs inside
It was almost a month ago that we told you first about a so-called OPPO Mirror 5, a (back then) upcoming phone that looks to have been inspired by HTC’s Touch Diamond from the good old days, in terms of its diamond pattern back. Well, the OPPO Mirror 5 is now official, granted, without a big fanfare, and you can all own its “Sparkling Diamond-like Mirrored Surface”, “designed with individual cut-glass sections and different reflective tendencies, all crafted using a sophisticated ultraviolet embossing technique”.
Behind all the diamond-like shine there’s a five-inch TFT screen with 960 by 540 pixel resolution, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, Adreno 306 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, eight- and five-megapixel image system for back and front respectively, 2,420mAh non-removable battery, and ColorOS 2.1, based on Android 5.1.
While there’s no official word on pricing just yet, the OPPO Mirror 5 will be available in over 15 international markets, including South Asia, Southeast Asia, Middle East, North Africa, and Mexico. According to OPPO, a beefed-up LTE variant, dubbed the OPPO 5s, will arrive shortly for Taiwan, Singapore and Australia.
