Microsoft’s launch of Windows 10 on July 29 is a big deal, and Redmond wants to make sure it feels that way. Microsoft has done a good job in gaining tons of customer feedback with its Insider Program, and we’ve seen it over the last couple of weeks with every build being pushed. If you’re wondering how Microsoft plans to handle its public launch in the next few weeks, think big.
On one hand, Microsoft is planning to hold special events in 13 cities worldwide in order to celebrate Windows 10, and the statement provided by Microsoft claims that this is also in appreciation to the 5 million members of the Windows Insider Program. The cities are Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, Sao Paolo, and New York City. In each of these you can expect a hands-on opportunities, a chance to meet the Windows Teem, in addition to experimental demos, and other entertainment options. Microsoft’s 100+ retail stores will also have demo experiences, prizes, giveaways, and even in-store workshops.
Microsoft is also taking this opportunity to launch its “Upgrade Your World” campaign. This program is partnering with global nonprofit organizations like CARE, Code.org, Save The Children, etc., in addition to local nonprofit organizations in order to bring a $10 million in cash investment to support their missions. Customers will be allowed to vote for these missions on July 29 as well.
