First CyanogenMod 12 snapshots arrive with Android 5.0
Have you been looking for a stable custom Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM? If so, you’re not the only one – there are undeniably a host of benefits that can be tapped into as a result of opting to use custom ROMs. The only issue is, given the lack of testing ROM builds receive, oftentimes the ROMs you install will end up without stable performance. That’s why it’s pleasing to hear today of the first CyanogenMod 12 snapshots becoming available for download.
In case you aren’t familiar with how CyanogenMod builds are labelled, here’s a baseline understanding of it: usually, with a new release of Android, a couple months of “nightly” releases follow. That is, those releases are oftentimes buggy and not thoroughly tested to ensure reliable performance. Snapshot builds may not be entirely up to date with custom ROM functionality all the time, but they promise the highest level of performance and stability for your phone. So, if CyanogenMod is the ROM you want, now is the time to get on board.
On a related note, today also marks the release of the last snapshot build for CyanogenMod 11, which was based off of Android 4.4, KitKat. You can download ROM versions for both CM11 and CM12 snapshots at the source link.
