We’ve seen OPPO tease several features of the upcoming R7, but this time, the manufacturer goes all-in and shows off, for the first time, the phone in its full glory, so we can probably put an end to all the leaks and speculation. No, it’s not an official device unveiling: that will still happen on May 20, but at least now we know exactly how the phone will look.
The OPPO R7 revealed in these images will have a full-metal body with a design that utilizes very thing bezels, which are concealed by the use of 2.5D glass (reflections will trick the user in thinking the device is bezel-less). Additionally, the R7 will also feature OPPO’s own VOOC fast charging technology, in addition to something new the manufacturer cooked up in order to dramatically reduce camera focus time.
The big surprise is the OPPO R7 Plus which is also revealed in these renders (a phone we also heard about in the past, as a possibility). The R7’s bigger brother, the R7 Plus maintains the general design guidelines, but brings a larger form factor, with on-screen keys (opposed to the capacitive ones below the screen on the R7).
That, and a fingerprint scanner on the back, beneath the camera, pretty much a la OPPO N3, which will unlock the phone (and hopefully have some other uses as well).
We still have to wait until May 20 to get the official word from OPPO regarding the internals and all the bits on the spec sheet, but, suddenly, the wait became easier for these two razor thin devices.
