Nintendo smartphone games coming

Here’s good news for the Nintendo fans among you. The Japanese company has announced that it will drop its “no smartphone games” policy and will indeed begin developing games for smart devices (including smartphones). Said games would feature well known characters, like Mario, and will be a result of the Nintendo-DeNA partnership announced (DeNA is a mobile content provider from Japan).

Nintendo decided to stick with its console games policy, refusing to license its games or characters for smartphones, but, apparently, the Japanese hardware and game-maker has realized that smartphone and tablet gaming represent what analysts believe to offer the most growth in the industry. The Nintendo-DeNA partnership also includes the creation of an alliance with cross-shareholding, and the two companies are preparing a “multi-device membership service for the global market” for sometime this fall.

Are you excited about the possibility of finally playing Nintendo games on your phone?
