Sony should unveil its next flagship, believed to be the Sony Xperia Z3, at the upcoming IFA 2014 in Berlin. All the rumors and reports seem to agree on this, and the company itself has started teasing, however, without a specific mention of the phone itself. The picture above is allegedly one snapped off of a real-life unit, which seems to have a sheet glued to its back with the Xperia Z3 specs. While the accuracy and veracity of the picture itself can’t be verified, the specs we’re seeing seem credible enough. We’re looking at a 5.2-inch 1080p TRILUMINOS display, quad-core Snapdragon SoC clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card), 20MP main shooter, 2MP front-facer, and IP55/IP58 dust and waterproofing construction, and a 3,100mAh battery.
The Xperia Z3 should be, according to reports, accompanied at IFA 2014 by its smaller sibling, a Z3 Compact. Coming from Poland, we’re looking at a leak trying to describe the internals of the Z3 Compact, and they mention a 4.6-inch 720p display, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC (probably the same as on the Z3), 2GB of RAM, 20.7-megapixel camera, 2.2-megapixel webcam, 16GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion), 2,600mAh battery, and IP68 build. Dimensions are hinted to be 127 x 64.9 x 8.6 mm, and the weight is reported at 129 gr.
We only have very little waiting ahead of us until all of this will become official, or debunked. Pocketnow will be, as usual, on location, bringing you our usual coverage from the show floor, so stay tuned for a lot of IFA 2014 in the coming days!
