Sony’s Xperia plans for IFA 2014 get detailed, see what the OEM is planning to announce
We already saw Sony’s alleged wearables plans for IFA 2014, but that’s not all we’re going to see liked before the big event it seems. In a massive leak today, the Sony IFA 2014 plans for the Xperia line have presumably leaked in their entirety.
First off, let’s talk Xperia Z3. This one isn’t much of a surprise, as it has been rumored for quite a while, but we have some pretty solid details about it this leak around. There’s apparently going to be a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.2-inch Triluminos display. There will be IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, and there will be new software tech in order to make the battery last two days – this will probably be like the Extreme Power Saving mode on the HTC One M8. Probably the most interesting thing is the fact that this will supposedly be a T-Mobile exclusive when it initially launches.
There will also supposedly be the Xperia Z3 Compact. This will supposedly have the same internals as the Z3, but the only difference will be a 4.7-inch 1280×720 display instead of the 5.2-incher on the Xperia Z3.
The next phone up is the Xperia E3. This is the first time we’re hearing about this phone, but we’re hearing plenty. This apparently won’t have the waterproof certification, but it has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1.5 to 2GB of RAM. Rounding out the specs list for this phone is a 4.8-inch 1280×720 display. This will supposedly retail for $200 to $300 without a contract.
The final announcement will allegedly be of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. This will supposedly have the same internals as the Xperia Z3 smartphone, but with a 1080p 8-inch display instead.
