Waze gives Windows Phone the boot, no updates going forward?

Waze has gained a lot of popularity over the last couple of years for its crowd sourced navigation. Surely it’s not a perfect service, but it has become popular enough to get Google to buy the service, but which also leads to a major problem. We know how divorced Google and Microsoft are lately, and it seems the problem only extends as new services get acquired.

Waze has just confirmed on Twitter that it has no plans to provide any updates for its service on Windows Phone. It does clarify that things could change in the future, which definitely leaves us with hope, but that doesn’t mean it’s a promise either. Just like we saw with YouTube recently, Google is clearly not interested in providing any support for Windows Phone, and the recent drop in marketshare only gives the platform a harder road to climb in order to gain this support.

Yes, you can still use the service. Sadly we have to recommend that you start looking for other options, if any.
