HTC Butterfly 2 renders leak, as company prepares to launch Zoe for all Android devices
A set of leaked images, above, and below, has surfaced on the internet, in the shape of what appears to be official press renders of an upcoming HTC device. If the images are legit, then we’re looking at the HTC Butterfly 2, a follow-up to the J Butterfly, a phone destined for Asian/Pacific markets.
Aside from specs rumored — including a five-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD), 13MP main shooter with Duo Camera, and a five-megapixel webcam — the Butterfly 2 will apparently also sport a water and dust proof build, with IP57 certification (making it among the first HTC phones to feature that). We’ll let you know more as soon as we find out.
On a side note, HTC has prepared a separate business division in charge with software development, based in Seattle, consisting of 260 people that also come from San Francisco and Taipei. HTC Creative Labs’ first product will reach the market later this week, according to reports, and it will be Zoe, making the video/gallery app available for non-HTC devices as well. Apparently, there are more projects the group is working on, and Zoe will be just the first one of these.
