ZTE phablet with an interesting design being tested on T-Mobile?

ZTE hasn’t necessarily been a blockbuster hit when it comes to the smartphones it has launched in the US, but that could be intentional. The company has focused on the mid-tier market with devices like the Nubia 5 or the Boost Max that we recently reviewed, and we doubt things will change any time soon after what we saw at ZTE’s booth at MWC 2014. That said, the company is interested in growing in the US market, and some new leaks point to something new in the pipeline.

Famous tipster @evleaks just landed an interesting tip of a ZTE phablet that’s currently being tested on T-Mobile. You’ll notice that even though the device isn’t being used on the T-Mobile network in the photo, you can see somebody with a T-Mobile shirt in the reflection of the display. You’ll also notice that this phablet is dramatically different in design when compared to devices like the ZTE Icon and the ZTE Nubia X6 that we’ve seen recently. The fact that this design looks very refined could mean that the company is finally considering stepping its game up a notch, if not in price, then in design.

Sadly the tip doesn’t provide any further details, but we’ll definitely keep an eye on whatever ZTE launches in the end.
