Samsung Galaxy Tab S reaches India, retails next week
Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy Tab S series a couple of weeks ago was met with much praise. Surely Samsung’s line of tablets has never gained the acceptance or popularity of Apple’s iPad offering, but the company keeps trying, and the more-refined Galaxy Tab S series proves to be a good balance between a simplistic tablet, with some hot Galaxy S5 features.
Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Tab S availability in India during an event in New Delhi. The 3G enabled variants of the tablet lineup will be available on June 12th, and you can expect the LTE variants to reach stores later this year. Those of you interested in the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab S will have to pay Rs. 37,800 (around $630), and those who prefer the 10.1-inch model should expect a price of around Rs. 44,800 ($745), prices that are actually quite similar to what the iPad Air retails for in the country.
One benefit of purchasing this tablet in India, aside from the usual Galaxy Gifts deals, is that buyers will receive 9GB of free 3G data for three months via Indian carrier Reliance, aside from access to BigFlix, a movie rental service. Definitely a nice way to sweeten the deal of a tablet that is not that affordable.
