Google I/O 2014’s keynote is now in the books, but the news still keeps flowing in. Now we’re hearing of AT&T’s intentions to carry the LG G Watch on its network.” But wait, the LG G Watch doesn’t have cellular radios!” Of course it doesn’t — let’s go over the details.
AT&T is bringing the G Watch in as a purchasable accessory, and you’ll probably be able to pick one up either in stores or on the carrier’s website. The LG G Watch can connect to any smartphone touting Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or better, so many will be able to get in on the fun should they choose to.
It’s all about quickly checkable information, and that’s at the core of the Android Wear platform. AT&T hasn’t provided any dates for stocking the LG G Watch, though it’ll likely be soon; the first Android Wear devices will be available really soon, with the notable exception being the Moto 360.
