Buy the LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live right now in Google’s new Android Wear store

Right on time (ish), Google has lifted the veil on the new Android Wear section of its Play Store, putting both the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live up for preorder, with shipments starting July 8th.

In case you missed our extensive I/O coverage, both of these devices bring Google’s new Android Wear platform to a decidedly boxy form factor, with the slightly larger Samsung device edging out the G Watch just slightly in size and specs. The LG G Watch is available in black and white variants at $229, while the Gear Live only showed up in black on our afternoon refresh-fest (though it comes in at the surprisingly cheap price of $199). Meanwhile, the more buzzworthy and much more curvaceous Moto 360 launches “later this summer” with an as-yet-unknown price tag.

We expect more devices in the Android Wear lineup later in the season, as Google made several references to more watches in both square and round-screened variants coming down the pipe. We’ll be sure to keep you abreast of inventory status on these units should they sell out, and stay tuned for our hands-on and review treatment, coming as soon as Google can get these to us! If you’re in the US and you want an Android Wear watch of your own, head on over to the Play Store right stat now.
