Google Wallet Instant Buy API now available for iOS usage

One of the biggest problems merchants have is when a frustrating checkout experience results in a loss of potential customers. Google, by releasing the Wallet Instant Buy API for Android last year, remedied this — a simple “Buy With Google” button could be implemented by developers for quick, easy, and painless payment processing.

The Instant Buy API provides merchants with a simple solution to take payments. User information is stored on Google servers until said user decides to go through with a purchase, when the information is transferred to the merchant to run through any payment processor. Google provides the service for free.

Google reports that Instant Buy increased conversion rate for the merchant Fancy by 20 percent, as less and less users abandoned their shopping carts because of confusing and complex payment information entry screens.

Developers interested in trying the service out for either Android or iOS (joining the ranks of merchants like B&H, Newegg, and Fancy) must hit up the source link, and then wait for Google to whitelist them.
