When it rains mobile devices at AT&T, it pours. At least, that’s what this new onslaught suggests — the ASUS PadFone X, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, and Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 are all now available from purchase from the United States’s second largest wireless carrier.
The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is a mid-range tablet, with not many impressive specs. It features a Snapdragon 400 processor, and a 10.1-inch display with a mediocre screen resolution of 1280×800. It costs $379 on a two-year data plan contract, and $479 off-contract. Alternatively, it can be financed through AT&T, which would let it be paid off with 20 payments of $24 a month. The Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 is Samsung’s current flagship tablet. We say current, as Samsung is expected to announce a high-end Galaxy Tab S line of tablets soon, which could shake up the company’s current hierarchy of devices. This particular device has a 12.2-inch 2560×1600 display, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, and 3GB of RAM. It can be found at AT&T for $799 on a contract, and $899 forgoing one. AT&T will finance it for 20 monthly payments of $45 a month.
The ASUS PadFone X is the most interesting tablet out of the bunch, at least in its concept. Depending on how you’d like to look at it, it’s either a tablet with a phone in tow, or a phone with a tablet free. In our review, we found both parts to be fairly capable. The phone portion has a 5-inch 1920×1080 display, while the tablet portion has a 9-inch 1920×1200 variant. It will run $200 on-contract, and $595 without one. This device can be financed for payments of $29.80 per month, for 20 months.
