Google Glass update adds “Notification Glance” feature
Google Glass has been chugging along, routinely receiving updates, and this next one brings a new experimental feature — Notification Glance. The feature is in testing, but should already be available as an experimental option in the latest XE17.3 update.
Should you choose to turn Notification Glance on (by moving into the Settings bundle and calibrating everything as prompted), you can now just glance at your screen to view notifications after hearing the notification chime. In the past, you would have to nod your head or tap the touchpad, but all of that has now changed.
The feature is still in beta, as denoted by the “Experimental” status you see in the image above, but we are hearing from readers that it is working fairly well.
An entirely different issue is a serious one that many are reporting. Some are having their Glass units bricked after the XE17.3 update, which isn’t a good thing at all, but the issue does not look to be widespread. Google Glass Support should be able to help you, should you be one of these affected Glass-wearers.
Anyone out there a Google Glass Explorer? How’s this feature working for you? Let us know down in the comments.
