Apple’s new TV ad “Strength” mixes fitness, wearables and iOS
Yes, we’re all still surprised that Apple made such a big buzz about HealthKit on WWDC a couple of days ago, and still the company decided not to launch a wearable. It seems that Apple’s initial focus will mainly be about creating an ecosystem where third party manufacturers can create this fitness and health mentality for you. Love it or hate it, if you’re wondering just how useful an iPhone can be without an iWatch in this department, Apple has decided to show you today.
Apple has just launched a new TV ad called “Strength”, and if you take a minute to watch it, you’ll notice just how well the iPhone can you track your health and fitness. Obviously though, this is nothing that has to do with the phone itself, and everything to do with the apps and wearable products that you can currently use around the iPhone. Kind of an odd statement if you think about it, since the iPhone is really just a repository for your data, which means that any other smartphone with a compatible app can do the same.
Whatever the case may be, there is a big market out there for iPhone users interested in fitness, and we do know that there are certain apps and services that are exclusive to the iPhone. Let’s just hope Apple backs-it-up with a wearable at some point at least.
