Instagram 6.0 is now closer to a full photo editor for iOS and Android

Definitely one of the most popular Apps on both iOS and Android today is Instagram. Some people assume that it’s all because of the vintage photo filters, but really, it’s more about the social network than anything, and Facebook clearly understood that when it purchased the service. Still, editing photos wasn’t really as practical as we’d all want, at least until today.

Instagram has just pushed a new update to iOS and Android that brings a lot of extended functionality for photo editing. In the past you could barely select between filters, or modify lux, but now the new version allows you to modify contrast, warmth, saturation, brightness, etc. Surely the recent updates to iOS 8 show us a smarter and more intuitive way to modify photos, but while you wait for the update to reach your devices in the fall, this is a good way to go for now.

Let’s just hope that Instagram moves away from squared photos at some point in the future though, and let’s also hope this reaches Windows Phone as well. Download today on Google Play or the App Store.
