Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, GS5 Google Play edition appear to get Bluetooth certification
Rumors of upcoming Samsung Android have been arriving on multiple fronts, and we’re looking forward to everything from a third batch of new tablets this year, to some more Galaxy S5 variants, including that GS5 Active we checked out some evidence for overnight. Today we’re going to continue looking into those new Galaxy S5-series models, as we spot what sure seem to be a couple of them swinging by the Bluetooth SIG.
We’re looking at two model numbers here: SM-G906L and SM-G900FG. The former you might recognize as the G906 that’s likely to be the quad HD Galaxy S5 Prime. The L suffix designates operation on South Korea’s LG Uplus carrier, and it’s one GS5 Prime version we’ve seen mentioned before.
What of this G900FG business? Well, the G900 is the Galaxy S5 itself, and the G900F the international European version. But that trailing G clues us in to this likely being the Google Play edition that we’ve been expecting. After all, last year’s GS4 GPe was the GT-I9505G, with that 9505 similarly referencing the open, international variant just as G900F does here.
Sure, this doesn’t bring us closer to learning a launch date for either model, but it’s progress nonetheless.
