Best Buy holding iPhone trade-in event, will let some users upgrade to the 5s for free
Though the iPhone 6 is fairly close to us at this point in time, the current-gen offerings are by no means bad phones. If you have an old iPhone and are looking to grab yourself an upgrade, be sure to take a glance at Best Buy’s latest deal. It is offering up to $200 in trade-in credit for old iPhones, toward the purchase of an iPhone 5s or 5c.
If you trade in a working iPhone 5, you’ll get a $200 gift card guaranteed, which should net you an on-contract 16GB 5s for free on either AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon. For a 4s, it’s the same deal, but you’ll get $150 instead, and this means that you will still have to pay $50 for the AT&T model. Trading in an iPhone 4 will get you a guaranteed $100, making the 5s on every carrier except AT&T (that one will run you $99) free.
The reason for the differences between AT&T and the other two carriers is the fact that Best Buy is currently offering Sprint and Verizon models at a $100 discount.
The deals are available at every Best Buy outlet offering trade-ins, though before you purchase, there are a couple things to keep in mind. First of all, you have to sign a two year contract for these previously mentioned rates, something not everybody wants to lock into. Also, your iPhone must power on, have no water damage, and be free of a cracked screens to qualify.
