Samsung Galaxy Note II Android 4.4 KitKat update rolling out

The Galaxy Note II Android 4.4 KitKat update is a nice surprise for those who are still rocking the 2012 phablet and have chosen, for one reason or the other, to not upgrade to the latest and greatest Note 3 — soon to be replaced by the Note 4 at IFA in Q3. It is not yet (as of the date of this article) available as an OTA refresh, but it popped up in KIES, being available to Note II owners in France.

The Galaxy Note II Android 4.4 KitKat update will bump your build numbers up to N7100XXUFND3, and should bring all the goodies you’d expect from the latest iteration of the Google platform, including performance and visual tweaks. Samsung has included, according to reports, its own Samsung Wallet and KNOX apps, aside the usual pre-installed stuff you’re already used to by now. If you haven’t received the update yet, don’t worry, it might be rolling out in stages. However, you can manually check for its existence just in case.
