If last year is any indication, the HTC One (M8) should be followed by a HTC One Mini (M5?), just as the One (M7) was followed by the One Mini (M4). It will likely compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Mini, whose tentative specs have been recently leaked. We’ve already heard mentions of the 2014 HTC One Mini, and a carrier even referenced it last week.
According to unverified UK retailer inside sources, the 2014 HTC One Mini will be available next month, in May. It will be no surprise that it will inherit most of the looks of the One (M8) — just like last year’s model — and the screen size will be bumped, reportedly, from last year’s 4.3-inches to 4.5-inches. Whether the resolution will also be bumped from 720p to 1080p is yet unknown. HTC’s Duo Camera from the M8 will likely be replaced by a standard shooter (probably four-megapixel UltraPixel camera — though other reports claim a standard 13MP shooter), while the rest of the rumored specs include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocking at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, five-megapixel front-facer, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and Sense 6.0 on top of it. BoomSound, just like last year, should be in as well.
