Just as we’re expecting an HTC One Mini, we’re expecting a Galaxy S5 Mini, pretty much like last year. It has nothing to do with leaks, rumors, predictions, or speculation, it’s the way OEMs compete in the non-flagship segment. These phones often have nothing in common with their higher-end siblings, except for the name they carry, but that doesn’t stop the manufacturers from releasing them.
Back to the topic at hand, the upcoming Galaxy S5 Mini, the Galaxy S4 Mini follow-up. SamMobile claims they’ve got inside information concerning the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini specs: a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution (a step-up from last year’s qHD), quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8MP main shooter, 2MP webcam, Android 4.4 KitKat, and a 2,100 mAh battery. The phone might or might not inherit the water resistance of its higher-end sibling, and exact pricing and availability is not known.
With “mini” phones like the Xperia Z1 Compact out there, do you even care about the S5 Mini?
