Despite Samsung’s sheer domination in the Android space and HTC’s shrinking revenues and market share, the rivalry between the two giant handset makers continues to heat up.
Last year, the HTC One and Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 were two seriously impressive smartphones. Sure, the Galaxy S 4 was a bit more of a marginal upgrade over the S III than we were expecting, but the phone sold in droves and lived up to nearly every expectation. HTC’s flagship One handset also lived up to the hype, becoming the recipient of multiple awards; it was named best smartphone the year in GSM Association’s 2014 Global Mobile Awards and took the crown in our Readers’ Choice Awards last year, to name a few.
This year, both companies aim to continue pushing the market forward with new technologies, software features, principles, and value ads in their latest products. The question is, outside the actual hardware and financial status, which of the two companies has a seemingly brighter year ahead? Our very own Michael Fisher had the daunting task of answering this hypothetical.
