Live Streaming services have proven to be a smart business model lately, with companies like Pandora and Spotify succeeding in gaining members. Apple’s iTunes Radio is currently on a rise in many countries, and a new launch today proves that it’s just getting better.
NPR will launch on iTunes Radio today, and its offering 24 hours of streamed content to your iOS device. NPR affiliates are also ready to join the service, and we should expect these to launch on iTunes Radio this spring. According to NPR, this is just one of the many strategies it has to offer an expanded digital licensed experience.
We do know that Apple entered into a significant deal with record labels in order to make iTunes Radio possible. It’s hard to know exactly what arrangement was made with NPR, but what’s important is that you’ll now have more alternatives as to what to stream, without having to leave the app.
