Google launches Photowall, turns your Chromecast into a photo frame

It’s amazing how far $35 can take you lately. Surely for some, this is just a round of cappuccinos with friends, but for Google this is something else entirely. We’ve seen how the company has revolutionized the concept of streaming lately with the Chromecast. Not necessarily because Google invented it, because it didn’t, but because its figured out how to create a product that can grow beyond what it was originally intended to be.

The company has launched an app called Photowall today for iOS, which turns your Chromecast into a photo frame in a very neat way. Yes, it’s odd that it’s currently available just for iOS, but we should see an Android version soon. The app allows you to doodle with photos, take notes with them, and even allows you to create a YouTube montage of the results. You can also share your photos with others even if they don’t have the app installed.

The app is available for download today, and given the fact that its free, it’s definitely a cool way to entertain your kids or friends at home.

Update: The App just launched for Android as well.
