Samsung ATIV SE launch date rumored

For the longest time now, we’ve been hearing about a new Windows Phone handset from Samsung. Considering how half-hearted the manufacturer’s affinity for the platform has seemed, we were surprised to see anything new at all, and were doubly shocked when the specs attached to this phone seemed so high, with things like a 1080p display. More recently, we’ve heard that this model may arrive as the ATIV SE for Verizon, and even got to check out a leaked render. We still haven’t heard any official word about the model, but a new rumor now attempts to zero-in on its launch date.

According to this source, Verizon is looking to launch the ATIV SE on April 18. That’s interesting, as April 18 is a Friday, and Verizon sure likes to introduce new hardware on Thursdays; maybe not a deal-breaker outright, but a little bit weird, all the same. There, it would see an off-contract price of nearly $600, with an on-contract sticker of $200 (though that latter figure is more of an educated guess).

Beyond that, WPCentral has also heard about another Windows Phone launch planned for April 9, but really all they have there is the date. That’s led to speculation regarding the upcoming Lumia 930 and possibly AT&T, but it all sounds a little loose for now.
