Even though some call the Sony Xperia Z2 a minor iteration to last year’s flagship, let’s remember that the Xperia Z1 has only been in the market for a couple of months. The Xperia Z2 has come to solve a ton of the complaints we found on the Xperia Z1, and add some additional features to sweeten the pot for those customers interested. One of those features is the ability to record video in 4K resolution, which is currently limited to only a few smartphones, and according to some recent statements, you should expect the Xperia Z2 to shine in this department.
Kichiro Kurozumi from Sony’s Mobile headquarters in Tokyo has just given everyone an extensive look as to why the Xperia Z2 is superior not only to the old Xperia Z1, but even to other smartphones in the market. The new thing lately is 4K video recording, and according to Kurozumi, the Xperia Z2 has technology that’ll make it do a better job than its competitors. He emphatically states that it’s all the work done behind the scenes (reengineered frame, a 20.7-megapixel camera that records in 4K) that makes the Z2 stand out. There’s also software involved, as Kurozumi mentioned that the “SteadyShot” is also key in making this camera stand-out from the crowd in up to 21%.
Obviously it’s normal for every company to defend its products, and we can’t wait to put the Xperia Z2 to the test and confirm if these statements are true in our Pocketnow Labs.
