“Bulletproof” iPhone screen protector fails to impress (video)

Ever since the dawn of the iPhone, we’ve seen how the glass made by corning has done a decent job in durability. Surely it’s not perfect, and we’ve seen how Apple is now investing heavily in sapphire glass as well, but that’s not necessarily shatterproof either. A case maker named Sir Lancelot’s Armor has made an effort to provide us with a “bulletproof” solution, and there’s a video to show the results.

Now bare in mind that even the Motorola devices are made of Kevlar, which is a material used for bulletproof vests, and that doesn’t necessarily make the casing bulletproof. In that same matter Sir Lancelot’s Armor has made a screen protector out of bulletproof tempered glass, so that’s not really a guarantee that it’ll save your life if you hold it in your shirts pocket at a bad time.

As you can see on the attached video, the tests conducted with by firing a full clip from a Beretta into it at optimum range didn’t really help the phone survive, and then again, we weren’t really expecting it to. We’ll have to get our own Joe Levi to try this out in our Salt Lake City Pocketnow labs.
