With the end of March now in sight, we’re only about three weeks away from when you’ll finally be able to get your hands on Samsung’s brand new Galaxy S5. As carriers prepare for the smartphone’s arrival, we’re starting to get new details on pricing, and learn how the order process will open. Today AT&T fills us in on the details for its own GS5 retail launch, as well as giving some US prices for Samsung’s latest Gear-series wearables.
AT&T’s 16GB Galaxy S5 will sell for just about $200 on contract, or $650 free-and-clear. Pre-orders for the handset begin tomorrow, March 21, and AT&T advises customers that their orders will begin shipping in “early April.”
We just looked at some Gear 2 and Gear Fit pricing, extrapolating from Samsung’s announcement in Taiwan, but now AT&T provides us with some straight-up US pricing. Once again, it’s further support for those previously rumored numbers: essentially $300 for the Gear 2, and $200 for the Gear 2 Neo or Gear Fit.
And if you pick up a Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo from AT&T alongside your new Galaxy S5 (Gear Fit isn’t included, for some reason), the carrier will knock another $50 off. For the Gear 2 Neo, especially, $150 doesn’t sound bad at all. Like the phone itself, pre-orders of these wearables also begin tomorrow.
