8.9-inch Google Nexus tablet might be in the works

There have been a lot of rumors concerning a future possible 8-inch Nexus tablet in the past, and, according to recent reports, it might be closer to the 9-inch form factor, at 8.9-inches in diagonal. Said rumors talk about an end-of-April timeframe, but a recent report mentions volume production for the 9-incher for July/August, for the Nexus 7 (2013) follow-up.

“The expectation is [that] this will be a lower volume product, carrying a premium price tag to support the specifications”, claims the report, which also mentions “high-performance” specifications. Google’s Nexus line-up isn’t known to carry premium price tags, but the rumors about this device talk about a higher than $299 price tag; HTC might be the manufacturer, according to the report, but, as usual, we’re advising you to file this in the rumors category for now.
