iOS 7.1 seems to be giving some Personal Hotspot issues

Even though iOS 7.1 was just recently considered more stable than its predecessors in recent years, that claim was mainly focused on app reliability. There are still people complaining about battery life issues in some cases, and others are complaining about device overheating on the iPhone 5s. Today we’ve started to hear about a new problem that some iOS users are facing.

It seems that the last couple of days, users have begun complaining directly to Apple about their Personal Hotspot service not working. Now keep in mind that in most cases, the iPhone detects the carrier settings that you’re on, and will provide the Personal Hotspot depending on carrier availability. This case is specific to those who manually enter APN settings for the Personal Hotspot to work. Apparently it doesn’t matter how many times they enter the APN data, the iPhone won’t save the information, and this is exclusive to iOS 7.1.

Apple at the moment hasn’t commented on this, and it seems that even some Apple Support representatives are clueless to the matter. I’ll say that I haven’t experienced any issues yet, and I rely on the Personal Hotspot on a daily basis, though your case could be different. Please share your experiences in the comments.
