As much as Apple wanted to sell us its “beautifully-unapologetically plastic” iPhone 5c, it seems the world preferred the apology. The company hasn’t been specific as to how many iPhone 5c units it has sold, which definitely means that it hasn’t lived-up to Cupertino’s expectations. We recently heard that Apple had as many as 3 million units in storage, and now we’re hearing of how it plans to get rid of them.
According to a leaked document at O2 Germany, Apple is planning to launch an iPhone 5c with only 8GB of storage, and 60 Euros cheaper than the current iPhone 5c. It’s hard to tell how Apple plans to handle such a small difference between this phone and the iPhone 4s that’s currently free on contract, but it is a good way of making the iPhone 5c more attractive to the budget crowd it was supposed to please.
The only problem is that sadly any iPhone with only 8GB of storage is a device that will be too limited in storage, but hey, some people don’t care. Expect this device to launch tomorrow, March 18th according to rumors.
