Google will address Nexus 5 KitKat camera bug in next update

If you’re currently rocking the Google Nexus 5, chances are you’re not really enjoying the recent Android 4.4.2 update. Much is still to be complained about its photo quality, but even worse is a nasty camera bug that has got a lot of users complaining. If you’ve noticed your device heating-up and the battery dropping like a rock, you’re not alone.

Google has now acknowledged that there is indeed a bug that’s causing the CPU to max-out on the Google Nexus 5 while the camera app is working, and this is the cause for the dramatic battery drain that many of you are experiencing. The company has committed to fixing this problem in its next maintenance update, which many assume will be Android 4.4.3. The problem though, is that Google is only confirming this to be a problem on the Nexus 5, so they suggest you file your complaints on its user forums in case you experience this on other smartphones that are running Android 4.4.2.

We haven’t experienced this issue yet with any of the units we run with Android 4.4.2, but we’ll definitely update this post if we find any issues.
