We only got done telling you about some rumored specs for Sony’s follow-up to last year’s Xperia Tablet Z a couple hours ago, but little did we know that so much more about this tablet was waiting for us. A full series of press renders of the tablet has leaked, and this second source gives credence to the specs we already heard, while adding some new details.
Up top you’ll see the render @evleaks leaked, which while a little low-res, gives us a nice, clean look at the tablet. Below, we’ve got a bunch more pics from new and so-far-unproven tipster “Gadget Leaks” (who will hopefully learn to tone down the watermarking a little), who attempts to confirm the specs from @evleaks and also shares the tablet’s dimensions: 266 x 172 x 6.4mm, and a mass of 426g for the WiFi-only model or 439g for LTE – that’s significantly lighter than the Tablet Z, to the tune of almost 14% for the WiFi version.
And then there’s the question of the tablet’s name. We noticed earlier that @evleaks was calling it the “Xperia Z2 tablet” rather than the Xperia Tablet Z2, and that may be reinforced by these new press renders. Then again, it might be odd for Sony to have an Xperia Z2 phone and Xperia Z2 tablet – assuming we actually get a Z2 phone – and we don’t know just yet how official the branding in these pics may be.
