Sprint Galaxy S 4 KitKat update could hit as soon as tomorrow

Last week, we saw the first Android 4.4 KitKat updates start heading out to owners of the Galaxy S 4. With international distribution underway, out thoughts turned to what the situation might end up looking like for North American GS4 owners; would the carriers drag their feet, or would our own GS4 KitKat updates be swift to arrive? We heard from Rogers in Canada that the update was “coming soon” but today we finally see a carrier attach a hard ETA to things, thanks to a new leak out of Sprint.

As you can clearly see below, Sprint seems to be anticipating that the Android 4.4 update for its GS4 variant will be ready to go as of tomorrow. This would be great news if it proves to be accurate, and there’s nothing here that’s giving us cause to believe otherwise.

Maybe other US carriers will be similarly ready to go with their own GS4 updates this week, but Sprint could just be trying to build a rep for itself as the carrier to look to for quick update certification; remember how early its HTC One update was available? Sure, in this case you can’t manually pull the update down early, and users will have to wait for their wave to hit, but this is still much earlier than we’d been expecting.
