We’re not sure what we’re looking at here, so you might want to lend us our thoughts in the comments below. Samsung has posted the above image to its social media channels and it refers to the upcoming Unpacked 5 event in Barcelona. The Galaxy S 5 is expected to land at that particular event — maybe hinted by all the fives in the event invite, as well as the teaser above — and we might see initial clues of a TouchWiz redesign.
We’ve heard rumors, and even seen alleged screenshots, of the interface, which might be a tweaked Magazine UX from Samsung’s latest tablets. If we were to interpret the icons above, we’d definitely think of a faster processor, security features, and maybe some sort of ruggedized build (or not), but it’s the aspect of the icons that’s more interesting.
Samsung’s TouchWiz is due for a refresh (or else it will become as dull as Apple’s iOS) and we’re probably looking at a small piece of that. There have also been commenters who believe, after seeing the image, that Samsung’s preparing to unveil its own OS (probably Tizen).
So, what do you make out of it?
