Rumors about a Nubia Z7 from ZTE date back over a year by this point. They sounded quite high-end back then, and they still come off as pretty compelling, with exotic specs like the option for 128GB flash storage. Is this phone doomed to remain vaporware, or will it actually see the light of day? New rumors suggest that the Z7 is still on its way, and it could deliver a new ZTE Android UI when it finally arrives.
The image above recently leaked, and appears to depict a new, flat-looking design for ZTE’s interface; more than a little, we’re reminded of the efforts Samsung appears to be making with its own Android UI. We only get to see the notification shade here, but it appears ZTE’s going for a clean, minimal look.
The big question is what we might be looking at with that handset there, and while we suppose it could be a mock-up, it also just might be intended to represent a Nubia Z7 with some very thin side bezels. While MWC might still be too early or the phone’s debut, there’s a chance that ZTE might have it ready to launch by March or April.
The ZTE Nubia Z7 may run a Snapdragon 800 (AB variant), and old rumors suggested the possibility of a quad HD display.
