Whether it will be at Build at the beginning of April, or shortly after, Windows Phone 8.1 is just around the corner (not to mention that Nokia is expected to show off some devices running WP8.1 at MWC in Barcelona at the end of the month). We’ve just recently heard confirmation that “Blue” will indeed be the codename for the OS refresh, alongside some slides revealing the upcoming notification center, dubbed Action Center.
More information has surfaced over the weekend, this time, concerning some UI changes. Apparently, Microsoft will be adding another, fourth, Live Tile size. Currently, Windows Phone 8 devices can feature small, medium, or wide Live Tiles on their Home Screens. A large live tile size has been tipped to be arriving with Blue and we’re guessing it would be taking up the space of four medium (or two wide, or sixteen small) tiles. We’ll have to wait and see whether the information is true, and whether all devices will be able to take advantage of that (or will it be only for 1080p and above resolutions).
