Even though Apple was born as a computer company, that didn’t stop it from evolving into the iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, and iPad that we see today. We’ve heard intense rumors, we’ve seen lots of patents, and we’ve noticed recent hires that all point to the company working on something new in the wearable category, and the company’s boss just shed some additional light.
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook confirmed that ““there will be new categories this year,” and in his usual tone, the fact that Apple is “working on some really great stuff.” As always Apple’s statements are beyond secretive, but every recent leak shows us new iPhone designs and even though we haven’t really seen a leak of the iWatch yet, we do know that Apple is making a big bet on wearables, fitness and health technologies.
Apple’s CEO also confirmed that the company is buying back as much as $60 Billion of its own stock back this year, in a way to prove that the company is confident of its future. 2014 could be another big year for Apple, and we’re definitely looking forward to it.
