What we have here is what appears to be the first picture of the HTC M8, in real life. We’ve heard a lot about the 2014 phone that will be the follow-up to the 2013 One flagship, including some weird rumors (backed up by case manufacturers) of a strange camera arrangement on the back. Nonetheless, this image seems to shed more light on it, as there will indeed be two cameras. Or will there?
We’re hoping it will not be called “Stereo UltraPixel” and it definitely couldn’t serve a 3D purpose. So what can it be? Id sure doesn’t look like a fingerprint scanner like on the HTC One Max, so our best bet is that there will be a number of three cameras in total (front-facer, plus two on the back). Whether one will be stabilized and the other not, or one will take low light pictures while the other will take regular ones is yet unknown.
Also interesting is that we’re now seeing dual-LED flashes on the back, which will further improve stills that require light assistance. However, the megapixel count is still a mystery at this time.
Previous rumors indicated that we should expect a somewhat larger, five-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 or 805 processor, and the rest of the usual suspects. We also heard it will now have on-screen buttons, when it lands in late March at a rumored New York event.
