The iPhone is back on Megafon, Russia’s second largest carrier

After a four-year break, the iPhone is back on Megafon, Russia’s second largest carrier, according to a recent Reuters report. The carrier announced that it has managed to sign a direct contract with Apple for supplying its smartphone, after failing throughout the years to guarantee volumes required by the manufacturer, according to unnamed sources.
The deal between the two companies is a three-year agreement under which the carrier will buy various iPhone models from Apple, following Vimpelcom’s example that signed a similar contract at the end of last year for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. The leading operator MTS is still buying its iPhones from distributors, according to the report.
